I saw an old post before about the ported 2.5 heads vs. 3L heads. I was trying to do the search to find that thread but my choice of search words didn't come up with the topic I was looking for. I know it is there. I read it before. I'm trying to find out if anyone ever did the ported 3L head vs. ported 2.5 head test. I know it was mentioned. I also want to find out if the 3L head can be milled to yield the 11:1 compression if it does flow better.

Thank you that was the exact thread I was looking for. Is it possible to mill the 3l heads to get back the 11:1 compression?

Not really. You can try and get some of it back, but you will end up with other items possibly not aligning or valves touching pistons maybe.

Between what I read in the old post and what you are saying warmonger, I should just stick to the 2.5 heads since I have no plans to go with turbo or supercharger?

Kinger I know you deal with a shop that does head work. Have you ever milled a 3L head to see if you can get the compression ratio back up and still have the proper clearance between the pistons and valves?

No we haven't because if someone want's higher CR they use the 2.5L heads. Otherwise the stock 3L 10:1 is still a decent amount of CR.

I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.
