OK there are SOOOOO many reasons why it hasn't been done. lets take a look at the first year of the pontiac GTO it had hood scoops for ram air but they were not functional, any one know why???? it was cause pontiac didn't feel the GTO was gonna sell and they did not want to invest time and money for the wind tunnel test to make them work correctly. later year GTOs they did. why do you need wind tunnel tests you ask. well see if you place it in the wrong sopt you creat a vacume rather than an intake, which would be VERY BAD for perfromance.

joe, you seen those foci that have those little intake ducts that are offset on the hood. wouldn't those work on just about any car because they don't make a scoop they just sorta suck what air is flowing over the hood into the intake. not sure if it would be good in the rain though.

like I said wrong placement is a bad thing also the height of it plays a factor too.

yeah, so those intakes on a lot of foci that don't have height, where they're like a cut-out of the hood with an in-ward scoop should be fine?

did you not understood what I said originally WITHOUT WIND TUNNEL TEST YOU CAN'T KNOW period. it will be either a vacume (as in air being pulled out of the engine compartment) which is B A D or it will be an intake which is good.

well i seriously don't it would be a vacuum since many of the foci using it make over 200whp. also i don't see it likely being a vacuum as it's not a scoop that is on the hood but rather a cut-out of the hood and goes into a box. not as good as a ram air intake, but better than a hot air intake, and most likely a worthwhile mod.

even with a RAM Air trans am the RAM Air doesn't show squat on a dyno not enough air flow so saying that doesn't mean a thing. Watch the history channel they had a thing on there a few months ago about the GTO and they said EXACTLY what I did as to why they didn't have a functional scoupe on the hood for the first few years of production wrong placement is BAD.

ok and again, the intake I'm talking about is not ram air, it's not even a traditional scoop, and it looks like it SHOULD show squat on the dyno.

as I keep saying is an intake that has a hole in hood to alow cool air in weather you want to call it ram air or a scoup or and Ice Cream sandwich on the dyno it will not show a differance.
