OP hugues Junior Member H Joined: May 2002 Posts: 7	Hi all: I have 96 mercury mystique 2.0L What is the "normal" idling speed (no load) ?? Mine is about 1,000 rpm on the dahsboard tach (are those accurate ?). Is this ok ? If not, anything I can do to fix ? Hugues -

You might want to search through the owner's manual and see if you find anything. 1996 Contour SE Sedan 4D (Royal Blue) Duratec V6 2.5L 24-valve DOHC Automatic 75,000 miles No Mods (unless you call the DMD a mod) Replaced EGR valve (gunked up), EVR (EGR VR), PCV valve, and evaporative emissions hose (cracked).

In my expereince the v6 MTX idles @ 600rpm where the I4 MTX idles @950rpm. Not sure on factory specs but if I remember correct the ATX's tend to idle a little lower.....someone correct me if I'm wrong. hunter green 96 mystique mtx, sabb side markers deep tints car bra., K & N filter, hyper white low beams, after market fogs, JVC Kameleon head unit, 600 watt amp with 2 10" kicker subs, soon to come new rims New adition 01/11/2002 The original 95SE in Midnight Red all the toys including traction control Fog light mod, lightmoonroof switch from a focus, power antena (still wiring it up) post 98 sail panels, new water pump , Bosch quad plaitnum plugs, and a new Cat.
