i personally ordered and now use the mirko adapter. you can find it on mirkoracing.com. it comes with a built in cut out for the round screen found on svt intakes between the the maf and air cleaner. it is a little pricey at $95 but it looks good and seems to perform well. thats just my opinion. if money is an object than i would go with a cheaper one.

I can get the DP adapter for $20 and the gasket thing for the stock screen for $5, so $25 vs. $95 I'll go with the cheaper.

any word on which MAF adapter from DP to get?

thx

The SVT needs an 80mm MAF adapter.

Thanks Stazi-

So this is the one for me:

Plastic 80mm/90mm MAF Flange Adapter
Price: $25.00

This leads me to another question:

Quote:

This adapter will fit just about every Ford V8 application, and accepts a 4.0" inlet diameter cone filter

my K&N is 3.75", I know this has been addressed but I searched and couldn't find anything. How have people solved this problem?

thx.

Oh Yeah Stazi-
I just got the magnaflow resonator welded on at lunch today, man am I happy! It sounds SOOOOO much better when I get on the go pedal now. I turned a few heads driving back to work and have a big grin on my face. My exhaust is 100% stock with the exception of the magnaflow resonator...

You want a ~3.5" or 90mm O.D. MAF adapter.

Most of the adapters that have been popping up are way too small! (like 65-80mm OD)

Do not waste your money of a small unit!

Also DO NOT get the adapter screen unless you have the stock MAF. Even then it has been proven it is really not needed with a little MAF re-orientation.
Also depending on the adapter you get you will not want to run the Smaller screen anyway!

Wot e sed!

My bad, I am crap wiith Metric to Imperial conversions. The MAF opening is 3.5" which works out to be 88.9mm ~ 90mm.

I have heard the plastic MAF adapters don't seal well anyway, so I would grab a MAF adapter from BAT instead of those ($35).

I was planning on these parts:

Parts Needed
1) The K&N filter: $33 (http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/knfilters/details?part_num=RU-3530)
2) The Heatshield: DTEC Tuning Heatshield $73(http://home.attbi.com/~dtectuning/order.htm)
3) The MAF Adapter & Gasket:SP Motorsports ~$20

With the option of making my own heatshield and maybe looking into hose to replace the snorkel to actually get some cooler air to the area around the filter.

What does "O.D." mean when you refer to the MAF Adapter?

Can you clarify the 90mm, I thought the measurement was simply the square part that mates to the stock set up, not the filter side?

Does the Dtec heatshield have a MAF adapter built in?

thx.

OD = Outer Diameter

It matches the ID = inner diameter of the opening to the MAF.

So any filter you buy should have a nipple or outlet OD of 90mm or slightly less. The RU-3530 fits it well.

The heatshield FWIK does not have a MAF adapter built in, which for that price you would want it too!
