Raced my buddies 99 Cougar v6 ATX with my ol' SE MTX.(closed track of course) It wasn't pretty. I smoked him two lights(I mean runs) in a row. Those things are slow as balls.

I think I will point this out again since some people can't read. ATX Cougar = ATX Contour --- SLOW AS BALLS MTX Cougar = MTX Contour --- NOT BAD SVT Tour = --- BEATS BOTH I don't understand why you people are raggin on the exact same car but differnt body.

I never ragged on either car. Personally I prefer the apperance of the Cougar. I was just pointing out however slight it is there is a slight weight difference and the advantage is given to the Contour. Just my $.02

And again: MTX cougar comes in at 2941 lbs not 3,100. That means advantage to the cougar.

not all cougars weigh that much. didnt the 99-00's weigh less then the 01-02's ? i had a base model 01 v6 5spd cougar. traded it in for the SVT 2 months ago and the SVT feels noticably faster.
