OK, I saw this car with my own two eyes the other night. Too bad my camera wasn't with me.
Late model Neon, obviously well kept (waxed, etc.) on the exterior. Some sort of gaudy wheels, I forget what size but not crazy big (maybe 15s or 16s).
Then you add the ubiquitous clear tails. I start looking at the crappy badging - a Type R badge on the trunk lid. And stickers on the front corner panel for "mods" that can't all be there (no way he had a set of Eibachs on it - it had a bigger wheel gap than my car!). Finally, a HUGE banner on the rear that had a bunch of Asian characters and said "Type R Tuning". (Keep in mind that this is a NEON.)
I laughed at it as we went in. It was still there on the way out, so I pointed and laughed again, but one thing caught my attention: He had directional tires and they were on BACKWARDS! I looked three times to be sure. I guess "Type R Tuning" is all about lack of control in the rain! And it's rained here like 20 of the last 30 days. I bet that was fun.
Hopefully he works at this place, so I can go back and leave him a note asing how the car handles in the wet. And ask if all that Asian writing (which is read reverse to English, right to left, IIRC) was on his mind when he had the tires installed reversed.
Why do people insist on modding their car this way, when just spray painting "I'm a Jackass" on the hood has the same effect for much less money?
