First my heater blower motor quit, then my fuse started blowing for the tach and temp gauge, and now the shifter lockout (automatic) will not release the shifter when I step on the brake. As far as the blower motor goes I don't seem to have any power to the control. Anyone tell me where to start looking? I have checked all fuses under the hood and in the fuse box in the car. And for the shifter problem I've checked both of the contact switches at the brake, and they both work.

Is f23 the fuse that's blowing? If so your back-up lights would not be working as well. A recent post indicated damage to trunk wiring might be possible cause.
With repect to heater was your car the subject of blower switch and resistor recalls and if so has work been done?
Blower by the way requires 2 fuses to be intact; one for control f23, and the other f37 for motor power.

The switch and resistor recall was done last year. I'll check the back-up lights and the trunk. Did have a mouse get in the trunk recently.

Well the car quit completely on my wife today, all electrical stopped working, had to have the car towed to the shop. Guess I'll find out what was wrong tomorrow and hopefully not get hit too hard with the bill.

What exactly was your tach and temp guage doing? Was it reading EXTREMELY hot?

I did blow a fuse once that cause the car not to start. Look under the hood, in the power block. There are two large fuses (3/4" x 3/4" x 1 1/4" with a clear top) they are blue IIRC. One of those being blown will let the car power up certain items but not start. The fuse itself is only like $2.50.

Everything was working normal on the car before all of the problems hit. Unfortunately it broke down in the middle of nowhere on my wife, and I couldn't get 30 mile out of town to see what the problem was.

Sounds like main 60amp fuse blew. Its not a simple plug-in type.
Sorry story did not have happy ending, please obtain details of repair and advise of final outcome.

The problem has been found. The connector for the main power to the fuse block worked it's way loose, shorted and melted the back of the fuse block. The fuse block is toast, has to be replaced.

So those darn underhood gremlins worked a wire loose, and a big wire at that, without human intervention? smile

Removed both intake resonators and airbox. Installed APC air filter and APC crankcase ventilation filter. Removed exhaust resonator.
Installed XM Satellite Radio. Replaced bad alternator and 175a fusible link...much fun!
Intake plenum---GONE!!!!
