Just got the call... they want $2700 I am sure the pump went, fluid is overfull, brown and nasty, metal in the pan.... So, how much should I be able to find someone to put a new ATX in the 98 zetec for me? If I can't get it a bit cheaper, the car is gone....

Hey man, do you have to go new? Look in some junk yards, find out your options, this place is only one of your options! I am sure these guys will help you out to.
My baby is in the tranny shop as I speak so hopefully I will get a call back on what is going.

Wow! I am having my tranny rebuilt, and it also needs a new torque converter, and drivers side mount. I am getting all of that done for around $1,000. Not to bad. That's for the parts and labor.

So, where do I send my tranny for that price on a re-build?
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Just had mine rebuilt with High Energy clutches, High Energy Band, new pump assy, new plantery gear, turbine shaft, all sensors except VSS, front and rear tranny mounts, forward/direct drum & sheild, forward sprag, Sonnax valves and pistons in the valvebody along with the trans go kit, of course all bushings, seals and bearings, plus TC and Filtertek filter! Labor, tax and parts was roughly $2200!!
I was gonna get a cooler, but since I had already spent so much on the all the High Energy clutches and Band, I figured I could of course do it cheaper myself.
A reman was my first choice also, but after talking to a few shops...including the one that did mine, as you can see... we could do it cheaper plus go above OEM. It could have been done cheaper, but as you can see I had a lot wrong.

You'd have to ship it to River Falls Wisconsin. Although I am not sure if they are up for a 2nd tranny job on our cars. My step-brother (the one working on the tranny) he spent 12 hours on it last Saturday and when I seen him that night he said my car kicked his @ss. Worst tranny they have worked on yet. And they have worked on a lot of tranny's.

That's about what mine just cost, including installation.

Got another for about 2, and someone else 12-1500... guess that is where it is going.
Still wondering what that mitsu crap was all about?
