In brief here are my problems with my 98.5 Zetec ATX with 60,000km:
1) rasp when accelerating from stop or slow speed from under the engine area..
2) went under car today and noticed my cat is a small 4-5 inch diameter tube with a metal mesh net around it and when knocking hskaing it , it produces a rattle, much like a stone or loose marble in a metal foil.
3) when driving around separators and fences car produces what sounds like an air leak.. or like blowing loosely in a straw! seems to come somewhere from exhaust area..midsection to end.. maybe.
If you can help me with any of these I would really appreciate it
I have done a load of searches but could not get to a clear answer..Is the rattle a failing cat sign? am I missing parts of the cat, it eing so small and uncovered like an exhaust? Thank you
