Today I was driving on a two-way side street when a big van came and wanted to go past me going the other direction. It was a tight squeeze and we were both going pretty fast. I was focusing on not hitting the van as we passed when BAM, my mirror broke off hitting another car's mirror on my other side. I stopped to check to see their mirror, and there were a couple scratches. The owner saw it and came out, he didnt care, he saw that I had bigger problems. The entire glass part of the mirror fell out, and half of the casing broke off. I was wondering how much would replacing a mirror cost? How much would they be from a junk yard?

Somebody totally obliterated my driver side mirror while my car was parked on a busy street. I bought a brand new replacement from Ford for $90, with the power heated mirror option included. I was amazed how cheap it was. This was like 4 years ago - don't know how much they are now. The only catch: it comes unpainted in primer black. You'll need to paint it to match your car. Fortunately, mine is black, so I just sprayed it myself and it came out good enough.

I plan on getting a paint job for my bumpers and doors this summer anyways, I guess I can always throw in a mirror to be painted too. Wow, 90 dollars from a dealer, eh? Thats beautiful. I wonder how much from a junkyard.

Yeah I found one... but it was the left side view mirror, not right.
