Maybe Neil can help you better with this one,I don´t seem
to have that many bolts in the fender of my Mk1.
My lifters are attached to the TOP bolt on the hood hinge though
don´t know it that makes any difference

now that i look at the pics a little closer, i can see that there is only one bolt on the fender.
and i can see how using the top bolt on the hood would make a difference.

Yeah no problems with bolts on the Mondeo MK2, The lifters we use over here are GM Corsa B lifters also designed for the Opal and Calibra, sorry I don't know what the USA equivalent cars.

elky, u have the same ones as me right? the ones from the group buy for the mondeo struts. mine hit the screw head just a tad, not enough to bend it, but i want to file down the screw head anyway. and i have them installed the same way, with the thick part on the bottom, if u know what i mean
