The Eclipse was mod'd with just basic mods (cat back, boost contoler, better BOV, large FMIC & hard IC piping, ect) After I did cook the Centerforce clutch in it, everyone I talked to looked at me like I was nuts for using a CF in a DSM.

Mod'd Contiques can easily put out as much or more then my GSX was putting out (Think of Tom's car now.....and in a little bit! ).........

Tom's car is one of a kind, for the general masses the centerforce will more than suffice. I do like the spex simply because it's cheaper, why spend more when you don't have to. I heard that annoying chatter goes away after the break in period anyways.. I hope anyways.

I recently pulled the motor on a buddy's 5.0 only to find his 20K mile Centerforce DF disc to be falling apart in layers and chunks. Junk!

We replaced it with a much better McLeod.
I will be running a new stock SVT clutch. They seem to hold up great and you can't beat the price. My factory clutch has lasted 80K hard miles with 3 different Trans-X's!!! The factory parts are all made by LUK. I have always had great luck and heard wonderful thinks about LUK clutches!

The Spec is an awesome piece. And if the money is available I doub't there is any better for the price!

If your directing this conversation to me:

1) I nver said they were junk....I happen to think there one of the best clutch systems for our cars!

2) The reason I called LUK about getting a clucth system wi because they are a vendor at my work....I could get one cheaper than most people can get a Center Force with easier access. By the way Carolina Clutch offers a Stage 2 kit for the Contour. It should be intresting to see how it works.

So don't direct your comments twards me. Becasue i didn;t say [censored] to you about Center Force or anyhting. I just stated that i was goign to check out LUK as another possible supplier for after market parts.

And you know what i will do what ever i damn want. I don;t know everything about these cars, but im damn well learning. And i ahve gotten to a point to where i can give sound and working advise that i have tested and has been tested before me. I ahve seen your posts before, you come off as a cocky ass hole that thinks he knows everything.

Its people like you that don;t have there head on stright and expect everyone to follow your opinions because you feel there right.

Well guess what, opinions are just that, opinions. Doesn;t make you right or wrong...so if people are happy with there set up, and there satisfied, then let them be. Don't rag and pick at them.....if they need to get something better in the long run, then im sure they will....till then we can only suggest what we feel is good.

I have the problems????? You Pick at and be-little anything or anyone that doesn't match your opinion. Weahter its about eibach springs or higher oil pressure.

if some one said the were thinking about getting Eibachs you'd say they suck.....They don;t suck they just offer a diffrent leve of performance than the other brands.....It just seems like no matter what people say, if you feel what they want sucks and other don;t, then its your way or you get pissed off.....Show me some posts where you don;t say something "sucks" or your not bad mouthing a product because people say they like it.

Thats the only tyoe of post i seem to see you write when it comes to heated discussions.....And if im wrong, hey im wrong...but im going off what i experienced and when our paths have crossed.

if you want to finish this, converstion then PM me...im not goignt ot hi-jack this thhread any longer...

It's the Sintered Metal Stage 3 clutch that has the chattering.
It's been known to do it during the break in period of this clutch and only if you are gently slipping the clutch. That's not a big surprise considering this is pretty much a strip/racing clutch.
It has an obscene rating for a FWD of 440 lb/ft of TQ. You could probably count the number of Contiques on zero hands that have close to that much TQ.

Is the SVT clutch any beefier than the "standard" clutches? (Sorry if this is basic stuff...just slap me if it is.)
