Today while driving down the freeway for a second or two, the speedo went down to zero and my gas light came on. I had 3/4 tank at the time. They both acted up simotaneously. It hasn't done it since then. Any advise?

Same thing happened to me. I just did a "Fonzie" and whacked the dash. Worked fine after that.

Maybe a loose electrical connection? You may have hit a bump just the right way to cause something to jiggle loose for a split second.

I would check the ribbon cable for the gauges.
