OP Chris Matthews_dup1 New CEG\'er C Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 45 Columbus, Ohio	My girlfriends 99 Toyota has a problem. 80 percent of the time, when you turn the steering wheel almost to the lock position, a loud squeek is heard from the front end. Why for you not set her up with a nice shiny Contour or Cougar? What is wrong with you? We are shocked that she has been seeing this long because of this! Squeak happen when you turn r and l or just one way? Sounds like belt for power steering pump slipping. But we don't know about no stinking Corollas here!

When you get finished with that listen to the PS pump as that should be the problem. As long as you don't turn the wheel from lock position to lock you should be okay.
