My girlfriends 99 Toyota has a problem. 80 percent of the time, when you turn the steering wheel almost to the lock position, a loud squeek is heard from the front end. I have tried to figure it out, but havent had any luck. Do you have any ideas? Thanks in advance for all your help!

people are having a hard time responding cauz you gal has a Corolla. Why for you not set her up with a nice shiny Contour or Cougar? What is wrong with you? We are shocked that she has been seeing this long because of this!

Squeak happen when you turn r and l or just one way? Sounds like belt for power steering pump slipping. But we don't know about no stinking Corollas here!

Top up the steering fluid?

Get your gal to turn the wheel while you stick your head in there to see what up

The first thing you should do is check out her RACK! When you get finished with that listen to the PS pump as that should be the problem. As long as you don't turn the wheel from lock position to lock you should be okay.
