You could go with a Magnaflow if you can find the right model, or you could get ambitious and get a y-pipe + hiflow cat setup for ~$300. I'm not really mod-happy with my powertrain, so I'm not inclined to spend the extra cabbage on the other stuff. "Think of it, if you like, as a librarian with a G-string under the tweed." oldmanriver Veteran CEG\'er O Joined: May 2003 Posts: 800	If you are under 80,000 miles, you can get it done for free. You are still under warranty for it. A good way to see if you need new cats is if you get a sulfur (fart, or rotten egg) smell inside the car after stepping on the gas a lot.

revrev_dup1 CEG\'er R Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 133 tampa,fl.usa	You ARE under warranty. Check your owners manual. The cats are warranted for 80K (Federal Law). Ford replaced all three of mine when I took mine in with a CEL at 78.5K. Ford doesn't mess around with this warranty, becasue they are required by the Federal Gov't to honor it. If they don't, just ring up the EPA and let them know...Ford will gladly replace you bad cat rather than deal with that. You DO have to get a dealer with the CEL on with less than 80K miles. BTW, welcome to Florida. You will have so much fun next winter calling all your friends from Philly and asking about the weather...from the beach.
