Great time guys. Once again my reasoning for calling the CEG the best car group ever is reinforced because of all the nice people involved. Glad to meet ChickenHawk, The SHO Lady (Braindead here), Cliff? (Silver SVT with Checkered flag) and his wife (Candy?) plus the little munchkin as well as everyone else new I met and as usual glad to see all the regular Cap Ceg'ers there. Looking forward to next year. I'm working on some new asthetic mods right now (Pete is gonna give me crap for that one). Look for pics in the next week or so.
As for the separate classes, I think it's a cool idea to give everyone in the CEG a chance to win. But we gotta make sure we can get more people next year first then worry about different classes.
ALSO. HUGE thanks to Jess for helping me put the finishing touches on my SVT. Actually he did THE finishing touch, ie the final coat of wax he did entirely himself. Thanks much.

Hahah, yea, that's me. I changed my screen name since some Ceg'ers decided to name a mod after me quite some time ago. Sorry about the name thing, but I barely can remember my own .

He did a lot better than I would've with all the guys there. He probably hasn't smoked as much crack as me. Originally posted by chknhwk: chknhwk - John checkered flag - Brian shogirl - Terri Candy - Candy (only one you got!)

Gee, when did we see this happen before, huh?
I'm sorry I couldn't come, I can see I missed an excellent party (And a open grill this time too! ). I can't believe though, that Carlise Events did the same thing last year as they did this year. Sorry, but just because my car isn't an SVT doesn't mean you've got to stick me with the Aspires and ZX2's.
I hate to say it, but if Carlise doesn't get their act together next year I may not go. It may seem a small thing but it really pissed me off last year, and seeing them do it again kind of irks me.

Lol, grief is ok, only if I get a real test drive in return. My last test drive of your car was a whole 2 feet and involved a little mud and grass . Originally posted by chknhwk: chknhwk - John checkered flag - Brian shogirl - Terri Candy - Candy (only one you got!)

OK guys , don't get your panties in a bunch !!
The TENT is a CLUB tent , and will be ours as long as we bring in 25 people or more .
The CLASS deal goes like this : Pete & I busted our balls getting the 25 people needed to get our own class this year . Remember LAST YEAR ?!?!?! We were with the Escorts & Tempos & stuff in the MIDSIZE class ?!?! Is this ringing any bells for anyone !?!?!?!? If it were not for me coresponding with the events coordinator & Pete & I sending out forms and pimping the show (thanks again Pete) , we'd STILL BE IN MIDSIZE class !!!!!!!!!!! She gave us the chance to bring the 25 people in , & I believe we did it . We DO NOT have enough people to get ANOTHER Contour class ... what part of this is not sinking in ?!?!?! The fact that the VANS had their own class & had 2 entries was due to the fact that there's no other class for them (it's a GENERIC classification) . There IS , however , another class for US should we slip back into nothingness ... MIDSIZE class . The MIDSIZE class is just a GENERIC class , until a certain bunch shows interest & brings in the 25 people needed ... that would be US this year ! Now let's just quit all of the pi$$ing around about the classes for now & let's just enjoy our little "victory" of bringing 25+ cars there this year & getting our own tent and our new class (even if it was a bit mis-quoted ) . If you don't want to be in the "CONTOUR / MYSTIQUE / CONTOUR SVT" class next year ... just register in the MIDSIZE class again & enjoy the Escorts , Tempos & Aspires . A "regular" Contour CAN beat an SVT in a car show , it just has to pony it up & be cleaner (or whatever) than another car (wheather it's an SVT or not) . THAT's how a car wins , NOT because of it's BADGING !! Remember , a non-SVT might be DIFFERENT that all of the SVTs in a "combined" Contour class , and DIFFERENT seems to win . I'm just trying to do something good for all of us , if it's not appreciated , I'll let our class disappear into the mist .
Remember this important fact , it's NOT all about the TROPHY ... it's about the FRIENDSHIPS made by the event getting us all together .
If you didn't meet anyone , didn't hang out , didn't make a friend , if you FELT ALIENATED ... it's YOUR own fault . There were 30+ Contour lovers present (there's the common bond) , all you had to do was walk up & say HI , sit under our tent , eat a hot dog and BS a while . I'm really happy to have met everyone (both old & new friends) and will do it again next year .
OK , I'm down off my pulpit for now .

I hope we can do it again next year. I had a blast! Maybe we should see about hotel discounts for the group? I know the Tarus people all go to the same hotel and hang out at night as well... Just a thought?
And to do away with the "SVT" and "NON-SVT" groups maybe everyone should just register as "Contour"??
