If you want the whole story it's in autoX but here's my problem. I had the e-brake on, took the car out of gear, waited about thirty seconds, took off e-brake and had no gears. All the linkage to the tranny is good and seems to work fine. What could this be? And how much is it going to cost me? confused
Also any ideas of other things I should do while the tranny is out?
All help is appericeated. Thanks

If you can 'feel' all the gears being selected then a good chance the diff is toast (worse case!)........

No you can only feel any resistance left to right but it has no resistance front to back. I hope that helps. About all I know at this point is that all the linkage works up to the housing of the tranny. Please help...
Thanks.

If you can't feel the gates, as in you can move the shifter from the top extreme left to the top extreme right without hitting any thing, then maybe a broken bolt that holds the linkage inside the tranny. At least that's what happened to mine.
Ended up getting it rebuilt under extended warranty because it was something that broke inside.
Hope this helps and isn't the problem, but shouldn't take to long for a good shop to fix.
Mike

That really sounds like what it may be. I can move it with nothing blocking the way on the top and on the bottom. The extreme sides have resistance but the front/back motion is completley free. frown
I don't know I think while it's down I'll do a LSD and mabey a new clutch.
Anything else I need with that?
Much thanks to everyone for their help!

The resistance on the side should be the limits that the thing can move.
When I had mine rebuilt, a new clutch went in. Since it's all apart, no extra labor should be applied.
Wouldn't hurt to throw in a Quaife either laugh
