Haven't been able to find this exact problem in the archives, so any help appreciated.

I seem to have some inermitant problems with the radiator fan.

This past weekend (Saturday), I started the Tour and it was making an aweful grinding sound. Turned it off and back on and eveything seemed fine. The same noise happened one other day (Sunday) and hasn't occured since. I probably have gone for 6-10 drives in the meantime.

This morning going to work (25 minute ride) the fan did not shut off until I reached the office and shut off the ignition.

When I left at the end of the day, the fan ran for a couple of minutes, but then was fine.

I'm not even sure I have a real problem, but wanted to see if anyone had any feedback on this before I go get it checked out.

First, your noise: if it can be described as clatter read this noise at start-up

Fan operation you describe sounds like you had defrost on, which starts a/c, which brings on rad fan.
