well what work the best before I replaced mine was to just take them off, clean them up really good and use some high temp. grease in the opening before i put them back on. i think you'll be suprised at how dirty they are against the bar.
most likely the noise is from the sway bar bushing but it may also be the parking break cable rubbing on the trailing link. I would look at this anyway becasue if the cable is mounted wrong it will where through and the parking break will start to freeze up in the winter
