I just traded in my contour for a new mustang. I have only had it for a day. That deal is not final But i have signed some paper work. I was wondering if I can still give the mustang back and get my car. It has only been about a day.

Just took a pay cut.
But I have signed some papers but I dont think it is final cause I have no copy of any of the papers

Question though: has a loan already been taken out? has the check been given? etc....

No checks have been cut or anything like that
They still have my car they said somthin like the deal was not final yet.
What do I do if the deal is final
And I cant afford the car can I go somewhere else and try to trade it in.

Try to talk to them about your situation - If it's final - then I "Think" (keyword Think) that you'll have to eat the loss. But i'm no professional...just trying to give some insight... Good luck in whatever happens. It's too bad you couldn't keep BOTH!

Isn't there some law called the "cooling off period" or something, stating that you can basically change your mind on a car within 72 hours, and even if you signed a contract reverse it?

I thought that there is a 3-day grace period, if you want to call it that. You have a right to can the deal within 3 days. May want to ask the dealer.
