Sometimes right after hard acceleration i have a smell of rotten eggs inside the car. I'm guessing its an exhaust leak but this started to happen after i did the mystery mod. Where exactly could it be leaking?

Rotten eggs is usually the smell of the cats not working right. Are you sure you got every little piece out of the manifold? Other than that, you should only smell the beautiful scent of unburnt gas in your exhaust! -Nick

I disagree, when I had my 2000 SVT, it made that smell when I test drove it at the dealer when it had only 40 miles on it. Plus the SVT I have now also makes the same smell upon hard acceleration.

I know the smell a bad cat makes and this is not it, it smells like raw exhaust before it is catalyzed. The egg smell is from the sulphur that is in the gasoline, it gets there from the refining process.

In my 98' SE 2.5L MTX, I get the same thing and all I have done to it is put SVT Exhaust on it. JSmith is right on the nose with this one... I think it's a charecteristic of the airflow of the exhaust gases as they exit the tailpipes... they are somehow getting in to the car a little... don't worry, it's normal... you smell it more probibly because you dug out your cats... do you not have any cat's now? Rotten egg is a cat smell.
