SVT should have put more balls in the Focus to begin with instead of just putting "enough" power in to compete with the lame new Si.
I don't get why SVT puts so much power in the Cobra and Lightning, but the cars it makes, although very well balanced and capable, tend to be lacking in this area
When the SVT focus came out, it had more power than any of its competitors, time goes by, competitors raise the bar, life goes on. I'm sure the SVT Focus will not sit idly by next time its due for major revisions.

There WILL be a turbo awd focus on this side of the pond. It will just happen to be wearing a Volvo badge.

Next gen S40 will be AWD? Didn't know that. That's about the only way Ford could manage to sell a 30k small car, even if a AWD turbo Focus was sold here, I doubt it would make its sales goals in the US

I have some friends with Gen 1 DSMs and they make one hell of a street racer, I can not count how many times they have rolled up to be laughed at then leave respected. There is nothing cooler than an 11 sec car that is just as fast on the street.

You might be a bracket racer if, you would rather be lucky than good.

Heh... "street racer". People didn't think anyone would buy a $25,000 Impreza or $30,000 Lancer and they did. People will buy it. Nowadays, there are people for everything.
