I've always been a big fan of the Trans Am... in fact as far as the V-8 American sports cars I'd say they're the best looking. Granted I know that they have their flaws and they are not exactly the best "sports" car to get. At first I was disappointed to hear that Pontiac was doing away with them, however, this disappointment turned into excitement once I heard it was being replaced by the all new GTO. Check out web page (I might have linked it wrong so just copy and paste. I have to say that I'm extremely disappointed with Pontiac's design. Granted the horsepower is impressive (Cobra still has it beat) and the car could stomp all over my tour, but it's design just seems so unoriginal. It looks like a cross between the grand prix and a 98 monte carlo (the model that is a 2 door lumina). I mean for the re-release of the GTO you would think pontiac could come up with something better or more creative. And yes I know I just said, "pontiac and creative" in the same sentence. What's everyone else's opinions on the car? (I haven't seen it in person either, so how's it look up close?)

Well, the design is not really Pontiacs. It is the design that they transplanted from their Australian subsidiary, Holden. To be more specific, it is a Holden Monaro with Pontiac badging and a de-tuned LS1 Corvette engine. In my opinion: blah.

Same here. Blah. I like for automakers to at least TRY and be impressive with their designs... I mean the whole reason the Camaro and Firebird were discontinued is lagging sales due to outdated technology and design. The GTO seems like its based on outdated technology even before its been released.

Oh don't get me wrong, performance wise I'll have to wait for my first TD, but I'm not complaining about that yet. No my rant was aimed at the looks of the new GTO.

I think they did a good job with it and it looks like it's going to be a sweet car. if anything people should be complaining about the new Grand Prix in which Pontiac really dropped the ball if you ask me. But performance wise, this car was fast in Australia and will be fast here. nuff said.
