OP Dionysus Member D Joined: Jun 2001 Posts: 551 Colorado	I think my 2nd gear cyncros are going bad. I've driven two contours (not mine) that had very bad syncros problems (both 2nd and 3rd were terrible), and I'm worried about mine going bad now. I get a very slight grind going into 2nd when the car is cold. I know its really expensive to fix if they go out, so is there anything I can do to be easy on it? You probably should not skip gears, I would imagine that it would wear down the 3rd gear synchro faster, it would probably have to do alot more "syncronizing" to get the gears to come together. Have you tried the trannie coctail yet? if this is really happening when its cold, the trannie coctail would probably help. Terry is right though, slow upshifts (painful but necessary when racing ). I can't speak for double clutching on downshifts, It doesn't grind then.
