1st electrical problem since owning the car (E0 SVT) from new.

Problem:

Since the past week, right rear flasher works intermittently. Of course, when the RR flasher is non-op the relay under the steering wheel clicks at double speed along with the flasher light in the dash. Right Front flasher always works fine though (but flashes @ 2X speed when RR flasher is non-op).

I've pulled the prongs out a bit in the tail light sockets to ensure a good contact and swapped rear bulbs from right to left. No difference (problem still remains in right rear flasher). Then bought a new 2 pack of Sylvania bulbs. Worked OK for about 2 days before problems returned.

Checked for moisture in bulb socket and tail light housing. All is dry.

I don't think it's the relay as that should affect the left side as well. In addition, the RF flasher always works.

BTW, the RR tail light (Brake & headlight operation, same bulb as flasher) always works regardless of flasher condition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As the saying goes ....been there, done that.

I've adjusted prongs solved it once, next time it was a bulb that looked OK but failed on continuity check. There may be weak contacts in turn switch on these vehicles 'cause sometimes I can get 2x flash when activating lane change feature lightly, pressing harder seems to solve it.

I've no specific suggestions, just thought I would aknowledge your post before going to lunch.

Edit @ 4:00pm. Just so you're clear on operation there is no relay, only one flasher, and many switch contacts involved in brake/turn/hazard circuit. Each corner of car has its own contact for turn operation, therefore you've isolated problem to that contact(RR), wiring to bulb (including prongs) or bulb itself. I'd bet on prongs or bulb first, then wire connection at bulbholder before going further afield. BTW RR brake light comes from a different contact in turn lever, but via the same path externally.

On my car, the socket that the rear bulb goes into is not part of the wiring loom and can be changed. Try swaping the sockets from side to side and see if the problem follows the socket. If it does, replace the socket, or at least have a good hard look at the socket connections.

I had the same problem when my car was nearly new. It turned out to be a bulb with an intermittant problem.

The bulb is bad, replace it. Mine does the same.
