Long story short does any 1 here use fram oil filters. I have a 99 zetec. I had an 3816 on there. i went to get a new filter for my oil change. I told the guy the car I had, I get home do my oil change next day they gave me an 8316, it dont fit. i went back they say its the rite one. frams website also says 8316 is the corect filter. But i cnat get it in. have I been using the wrong oil fitler. I ended up buying a purolator since motorcraft was out of stock.

so what is every obe using for an oil filter what nodel# on the zetec if u use fram????

I think it's a general consensus on here that you don't use Fram, they don't have as many pleats, I used Motocraft from Autozone.

use motorcraft, better than fram. i believe it's part number fl-200, don't quote me on that though. or if you have $$$ use k&n filter.

FL-2005 for post 98's FL*200 is for the pre-98 Zetecs.
I also use the Motorcraft FL-2005 in my 1999 Zetec along with Mobil 1 5W30 motor oil.

I use a ph-16 on my zetec 97 stique. I dont know if it anywhere the sme engine as mine is as far as the filter goes.

I use Quaker State QS8A. This is for a V8 Ford. Its the same mount and filter but larger (longer lenghth ). More cleaning area for the same price. Works for all brands. Learned that one from a Ford Stealer I worked for. Same for the 2.3 l
