CEL hit the first time tonigth at 115,000 km
symptoms, none really apparent on hard acceleration above 60 kph it seems to dog or loose power (between 4500-6500 RPM) for a split sec then picks up back to normal
my first thought would be bad plug wire, but their almost new 9mm ford racing wires
next thin, bad plug? i know they need done...
o2 sensor cause the power loss? its very minimal but you can feel it, engine seems to idle a little rough too nothing major by any means, but not as smooth as normal
any other suggestions?
next Saturday im taking the heap in for sparkplugs and the h20 pump... and this damn CEL

I've had the CEL light come on numerous times. Once was for a bad spark plug (even though I wasn't even close to the 100K for the platinum plugs...) and other times for O2 sensors or cat converter repairs that were covered under warranty or recall. Check to see if your car has a recall on it.
I think the best bet is to get the code read for the CEL, which mechanics want to charge $50 for, but you can get it done for free at Autozone stores. I don't know if you have them where you are, but maybe some equivalent auto parts store. That will get you a code and somewhere online, maybe even on this website, there is a translation for all the codes and what they mean.
Good Luck.

First of all, just chill out man! I don't see why you are so upset. This is the first time that you have had a CEL and you and jumping up and down? And it happened only after a mear 115,000Km? Oh my! The horror!!! Second, get the code scanned. Without the code it is almost impossible to give you any advice as to what steps to take until this one is done. Third, You mentioned that you smelt a "egg" odor. More like rotten eggs wasn't it? That means that you were running rich and the main cat was burning the unburned gas when it reached it. See, things are starting to look up! Your main cat is still working anyway. To sum things up.... Stop whining and get the code scanned somewhere. Until then, go buy a bike or something. Wait! Don't do that, you might have a flat if you run over some glass or something. Just take the bus!

lol bike 110 kms a day round trip to and from work 6 days a week its going into ford next saturday anyways, so if the plug change / "tune up" doesnt fix it, then ill have then check the code the h20 pump is getting done before i get left in the middle of no where and im not whiing, im just sick of seeing the ford dealer every 2 weeks syspension links, broken coil springs, tranny flush, serpentine belt, wheel bearings and now a CEL , h20 pump (not needed but im doing it) and plugs (needed badly) thats since feb of this year im hoping its just at that opint where things need done for another 100,000 km

I understand and know how you feel. Actually if I had to take a guess at your problem... it would be one of the 02 sensors. Most likely one of the upstream one's, but like I said that is just a guess. Could be a few other things as well. Good luck and yeah, I was joking about the bike. That would be hell!!
