I'm a glutton for punishment, so I'll bite
Motorcraft or Autolite double-platinum plugs. Autolite makes plugs for Motorcraft (Ford) and the Autolites are usually cheaper, so head over to Advance Auto (if you have one) and ask for Autolite APP764's.

I don't think there was any 'waste of time' being referenced here... This topic just brings out a lot strong opinions on what's good and whats not so good. While were at it, I agree with the APP764s. Bosch4+ plugs feel good at first, but didn't last long.

I've never used them myself, but much like the Bosch +4's, many people swear by them, and many people swear at them. Everyone has a different opinion about them. With so much uncertainty, though, I would avoid them personally.
Some CEGers may not like to hear it, but the Motorcraft or Autolite double-platinum plugs are really the only ones that are meant for our cars. The ignition system chews up and spits out anything else.
