I'm writing about a 1995 2.5L V6.
I had a leak in my power steering system in which I'd get a light coating of oil over that quadrant of the engine (passenger side, near the firewall). At first I thought it was the pump, although it seemed to be functioning perfectly.
Recently it got worse and I found that the hose that leads up to the metal tubing going into the power steering pump has rubbed against a metal bracket on the firewall and has a hole.
Well, needless to say, the harder the wheels are turned, the farther the spray goes!
I'd replace the hose, but can't figure out where it ends up! It goes behind the engine, but I don't have any diagrams that might show its path.
Can anyone help me out here?
I could use some info on where it goes and the part number too.
That's the ideal situation, otherwise I guess I'll have to come up with a fix for it. (any ideas for that are welcome too)
Thanks.
