i don't like that arguement much. i could buy a 500 dollar mustang and spend 25500 bucks or more and make it faster then most cars on the road. that doesn't mean it's a better car. like the thread was intended. stock for stock. it's dumb to compare a moded car to a stock one. mainly cause you can always one up each other (you do exhaust, I do exhaust and intake...you do exhaust and intake, I do turbo....you do turbo, I do engine swap and turbo....)you get my point. for me it's either stock to stock, or even up mods. all in all, it's a pretty dumb thing to argue cause bottom line, with drivers being equal the RSX S (stock) will edge the SVT (stock). but like i said before, different class of cars.........now lets compare another famous ford 2 door coupe with the RSX S....lets compare the 03 Cobra (stock) to the RSX S . that'll shut the import guys up.

This is so weird. Your model that you posted for was tested in August of 2001. The car I was getting specs from was in December 2002. But the car I posted for was SUPPOSED to be faster. It is the Type S RSX FP (Factory Performance) car. It ran slower than the stock regular Type S which is why they stated the car was soft in comparison. My bad. Didn't completely read into it. My article was a later test of a factory performance RSX and it turned out to be slower than the basic Type S. Car and Driver can be ghey sometimes. Oh well. The specs you provided are pretty accurate then. Perhaps a little under-rated considering they never dog the [censored] out of their test cars when someone on the street will.

Now shoe me a list where 25 Contours (SVT, LX,SE,GL Tique Mondeo, though'em all in there) run 14.6X or better, who knows maybe all these guys have funny gas buts thats some damn good numbers. Stock for stock 9/10 times we'll be roadkill, not saying I wouldnt have fun trying though

I've raced my friend with an aem intake and comptech exhaust many times when i only had a cat back, and going from a slight roll he was not able to pull any significant lead on me. Now from a 3rd gear roll that thing would pull extremely hard on me because of the 6spd. But from 0-80 or what not he had nothing. Hopefully this will clear up the confusion.

No insult intended but I frequent clubrsx everyday, and there are plenty that are putting down 195+ with the mods I listed. With dyno charts posted. DO some searching. Secondly, I do not own an Se-R any longer, I had a first gen. The RSX-S is my current car, I've raced a mildly modded Se-R spec V and I didn't run him down until 3rd gear and it was damn close. Closer than the celica gt-s I raced before. Maybe it was a freak or he was an exceptional driver. It is the only one I ever raced, but it impressed me alot.
As for road racing, I won't comment because I have never done it and compared times. I felt the SVT would probably be better because of the torque advantage, but that is not my area..

Of all honesty, i think comparing an SVT to the RSX have less in common than comparing the SVT to the new TSX...The TSX is 4 door, same K20 engine as the RSX with an close to identical weight to us, and looks like identiclal handeling (3rd party info, just using for comparison).

I think thats a more caomparable car.

your comparing a coupe to a 4 door family car.(all though over all, all sport compacts get compaired to each other in the end) BUt not all cars were created equal....Do you see and people using our cars for Pro-Drag compitions? Do you see any one getting 800 HP out of a 4 cyl Zetec? No, why you ask....becasue they were made to pull turns, pull G's, and to hug the asphalt. Our cars have traction problems while draging to begin with, and bad wheel hop....that right there is cause enough for most people to stay away formt he drag aspect.

Though, doing time trials and draging idiots who think your slow is fun and great, focusing just on that aspect is logical because thats not what are cars were made to do. If god ( or ford for that matter) intended us to fast in a stright line, he would ahve our cars, push-rod, rear wheel drive engines, but instead they gave us a smaller engine, with the ability to handel our "package" and get some nice drifting in the turns.

There are fixed factors and variable factors. One fixed factor is that stock vs. stock the RSX type S is a faster car. 0-60 and 1/4 with Prof. driver stock vs stock RSX type S IS FASTER. variable factor: The driver. You can't post on here and say "the RSX will destroy the SVT." Thats just not intelligent at all. Last weekend I watched a 5G VTEC prelude beat a camaro SS by 1 and 1/2 car lengths. Prelude had intake, headers, exhaust, and some ignition mods. SS only had exhaust. Who's car was faster? Obviously, the SS. I'm not 100% sure on my numbers but pretty sure the SS should be atleast 1 and 1/2 seconds faster than the lude in the 1/4. But hey, prelude got a perfect smooth launch/shifted perfect through every gear and SS burned god awful amounts of rubber and shifted into second too fast and bogged. So back to RSX vs SVT. I wouldnt be scared at all. If he misses a gear, that could have just cost him 1/2 second. There you go, I win. What If I launch perfect and he launches way too low and bogs. I'd be watching him in the rear view trying to catch up.

This post is a beat horse now. Lets just end it and take it to the track.
I dare a f'in RSX to try and take me now. The only chance it has after this is funny gas and a turbo.
