I recently had the BAT ST200 struts installed on my Mystique LS. I have noticed a vibration between 60 and 70 MPH that was not there before installation. The mechanic assured me that rotor runout, along with everything else, was in spec. The RF bearing was replaced at the same time. Has anyone had a similar problem? The mechanic attributed it to increased road feel of the new struts.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I have been told after strut replacement that alignment can be affected. The mechanic may have skipped this, as in theory it should be affected at all.

I recently upgraded to H&R springs and SVT struts. I took it to an alignment shop afterwards and the print out showed that both front and rear toes needed adjustment. This is expected since the ride height dropped over an inch F&R. FYI, both fronts and rears needed more toe out as drop in height creates toe-in conditions. Suspension geometry for safe handling.

So your alignment indeed is off spec and can cause the vibration problem - excessive off-toes spec can cause cupping of the tread which will cause vibration and wasted tire.

I just had the alignment done. Sure enough, the side that had the new bearing installed was out of spec. The vibration is now greatly attenuated. Thanks to all of you in this forum.
