I got my atx flushed and they overfilled the transmission! I'm going to have them remove the additional fluid but was wondering what problems it could cause(if possible in technical terms)!

Thanks

i'm thinking if it's too overfilled, then it would be pushed out through the *vent* tube or whatever it is. If you get it changed soon, I guess no problems would occur. Just thinking here, too much fluid maybe would cause bad shifting and possible extra heat buildup.

I think overfilling would cause a difference in shifting.

Technically, overfilling an ATX will cause the oil to foam,
and the air trapped in the oil will cause your ATX to shift erratically.
When the ATX reaches operating temperature and then OVERHEATS, because of the oil level,
the oil will run off through the vent tube and make an absolute mess
under your hood, and all under your car.

I had a 95 Escort Wagon, that had the same problem as you.
You would think that the technician that serviced the transmission,
would be smart enough to pull the dipstick and check the fluid level.
I picked up my car and started driving from Yonkers to Buffalo.
By the time I had gotten to Albany, I was seeing smoke pouring out of the back of my car
from my rear view window.
I pulled over and opened to hood to find everything under the hood
saturated with ATX Oil, as well as the entire bottom of the car
and the back door of the Escort Wagon as well.

I checked the ATX Oil, which was fine by now, and made a call to my dealer.
When I got back from my trip, they had the technician clean the entire car,
and steam clean the engine bay, as well the the bottom of the car.
