I'm looking at replacing the resonator to try tame my Bosal exhaust, so I was looking for a shop that sold MagnaFlows. One shop suggested a MAC Performance Flow Path Muffler, said that it out-flowed comparable Flowmaster and Dynomax and should still do a good job of quieting everything down.
It is 4x9x13 with a 2.5 center-in/center-out design. Anyone know if this a good muffler or not?

A user named Stazzie the Australian sells the Magnaflow you seek.
I don't know too much about MAC's, but I do know that Dynomax outflows Flowmaster.

i've heard pretty good things around the mustang circle about the mac flowpath mufflers...said to flow really well, but the sound isn't as nice on a stang as a flowmaster...but since your using it as a resonator, then sound shouldn't really be a factor....

Well, sound IS a factor but I'm not sure if it's the resonator itself or the effects of the resonator further down the pipe? I'm trying to quiet down the exhaust, both inside and outside the car.

I have been thinking about a Bosal system for my SE. I was under the impression that Bosal sold a "baffle" to go with their systems to quiet them down. You might consider checking that out.
Let me know what kind of success you have in quieting it down. Maybe you could send some sound clips to me.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I have the Mac's on my Mustang right now. The sound is like half way between a 2 chamber and a 3 chamber flowmaster with more 'bark'.
When I first put 'em on the car, I hated them. I like 'em more as I've got used to them. I'm swapping them out soon in favor of a Cat X-Pipe and a set of Borla XS Mufflers. I love the X + Borla sound.

If I had any way of getting sound clips for you, I would. I am sort of curious to hear the before and after sounds. Unfortunately, dragging my computer down two flights to get to my garage is a bit out of the question.

The baffle you speak of is a plug for the tips. 1) it will rob performance 2) it looks lame I went w/ Brullen quiet w/ a center resonator. I probably gave up 1-2 hp by going quiet w/ a res, but I can't stand drone inside the cabin. That said, my system sounds "sporty" in the cabin, no drone, and "very sporty" outside. I love it.

A PLUG ????? Are they freakin' nutz? I would never do that to my car. WAAAY to ricey for me. All I read about was a "baffle". I figured it was some sort of added chambering for the muffler or something like that. Bye, bye Bosal. I'll keep lookin' & listening for something better. I am basically looking for something that will add almost no extra sound at idle (except maybe a subtle thrum) & a nice LOW VOLUME beefy tone to my car at cruise. This is apparently going to be difficult, but I don't want to make my car LOUD, just low key cool .

My friend had a Bassani on his SVT and it sounded great with the resonaters in the tips. Then he sold his car on Ebay for dirt cheap and left the system on there. I would have gladly swapped exhausts with him. The system was like 6 months old.
