Hello all,
I have somewhat quiet exhaust leak that I originally thought was from the EGR tube. Ford tells me that it's from the rear exhaust manifold, but he can't tell if it's cracked or just needs a new gasket. They quoted me $1300CDN for a new manifold.
My questions are:
A)What are the chances of having a cracked exhaust manifold vs bad gasket?
B)Is it a good idea to try a second hand ex manifold?
C)Is this something that the average do-it-yourself mechanic can remove & replace?
By the way, I just wanted to thank you all for helping me fix an EGR problem. I was getting 332, 172, 176 codes and had replaced EGR valve (garage told me that was problem). I came here and decided to check out EGR passages between TB and UIM. Plugged solid - many thank to CEG - great site!
