The culmination of my being is about to culminate in two weeks. I am graduating from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL on May 25th. Business Marketing/Management major. Parents are proud and happy no more bills are to be paid by them. It should be a happy day, but all I can think about is how much I am going to miss all of my friends. I am also thinking about the fact that I probably wont see many of them ever again for the rest of my life. What I really could use is some college graduates telling me how they staying in touch with their friends after school was done.

Congrats! When I graduated, all my friends couldn't wait to leave. I, on the other hand, was pissed and wondered why people were so anxious to leave the fantasy world of sex, booze, and debauchery and enter the crappy world of traffic jams and mind-numbing boredom. Enjoy!

This will be no help, but I graduated 1 and half years ago, and it was really quite depressing. I am still on campus from time to time to use the gym as an alumni, and I always think back and wish it was 2-3 years ago. I really don't converse with anyone I knew from college anymore. A guess a clean break is the best break.

had no friends in college so I miss no one. Had classes with one person who ended up helping me get an internship my Junior year. Hung out with him quite a bit after college, but now only correspond through email and visit occasionally. Life slowly changes and you move on. you'll be fine.

i am in the same boat. i graduate on saturday and after that who knows. everyone is always saying that they will stay in touch but i know that we probably wont. college was the greatest experience. now i have to go out into the real world and try to find a job in the worst economy in years. man, no more friends and no jobs sounds like it is going to be a long summer.

I made some really good friends at school (Ohio State).
I talk to many on a daily basis, some are still in school (senior).
Lots of my friends still live in Columbus, and I live just outside of town. Whenever I go out drinking it's with my old roomates/circle of friends from school.
If you or they are all moving out of town after graduation, then you'll only continue to talk to those who are closest to you (much like high school graduation, cept I still see those people at home during holiday times...)

I stay in regular touch with all my good friends from college. In fact, 3 of them live within 20 miles of me. Every 6 months or so, I'll see the guys who live further away (they come to see me or vice-versa). And I graduated 9 years ago.
But the cool part is you can totally start from scratch once you graduate. In a new living/work situation, people have no preconceptions about you, and you can apply all the social stuff you learned in college to be whatever person you want to be around your new peers.

I hear you dude. I miss college a lot. Life was very easy back then. I had no money but a lot more fun. From 4 yrs of college, I only keep in touch with one friend and thats only sporadically. People change, I suppose thats life.
If I could, I'd be 21 again, for ever. It was the best year of my life for many, many reasons.
Enjoy the last few days.
-edit- I finished college in '96.
Bless our servicemen & women overseas.
