I am with 1314 on this one bring on the GST's I will run them. I will get beat by a some but I will take down my fair share of them as well. I don't know much about any of the DSM cars but I did look at a DSM board and there are plenty of the Eclipse variant's that have times listed that are slower than my SVT and many of them have listed non stock turbos, exhuast, and many other mods. They also had 60' times for FWD and AWD cars many of which are worse than the 2.04's I get out of my SVT.

Stock for stock a gs-t is about even with the svt contour. But add intake and an exhaust to an svt and only gain 6hp, where adding intake exhaust to a gs-t gets you 25hp. Most dsms on the road aren't bone stock unless it's a woman driving it so I'd expect to lose unless you've got some decent mods. I'm not being sexist, but I can't think of any woman over the age of 25 that mods her car.

Even in what???
Horsepower, NO. GS-T '95 and up 210hp. SVT Contour '99 and up 200hp.
0-60 acceleration, NO. GS-T 0-60 6.5 sec. SVT Contour 0-60 6.9 sec.
Curb weight, NO. GS-T 2921 lbs. SVT Contour 3126lbs.
It may be an even race if the driver has an automatic or gets a really bad start or has no clue how to operate a manual.
I believe you can go to kazaa and watch a race between an Eclipse GS-T and a Contour SVT. The Eclipse clearly takes it. Do a search for SVT Contour and you'll find it. (It doesn't say what mods have been done to both cars though.)
Although, they are racing on the streets like idiots.

I'm not trying to brag but here locally in Ft. Myers there are a few GS-T's running around, most have just an intake and exhaust no upgraded turbos, guess what I beat em so don't think it's too far fetched. If he has what you mentioned though your cooked.

It depends..... the first gen would destroy you.... but if it was a 1995 or 96 its possiable..... those years are pretty bad.... Plus it's front wheel drive too so it could be a drivers race... I have raced a fwd 95 talon with a 16g w/down pipe and exhaust.. he ran a 15.0 and I ran a 14.6 back than. So I won. I say race him... Just make sure you get out on him... dont spin or come out hard... or your over.... I have seen 15 second cars beat 13 second cars because of the driver. I have a friend with a 2002 Covette that ran 14.7 all day at the track lol.... He should be low 13's high 12's stock.....
