Will a 60-1 with a .68 AR and 4inch inlet make 400whp on a contour svt?

60-1 is a little large for a 2.5L
IMHO it would be far from the ideal choice on a contour; many other turbos that would work far better for just about any conceivable application.

60-1 !!

My T3/4 will make 400HP on a contour if the engine can take it. That is around the limits I think, but theoretically I should be able to do it. At the wheels.

The reason i asked. I saw a Daily driven type r, civic si, and a vr6 use this turbo and made 350-450 @ the wheels. The civic si only had a thicker head gasket with no internal work. He told me that he used this turbo because it came on later than the t3 t4 but a lot stronger on the upper rev band,(less wheel spin on take off). All the guys that used this turbo ran no less than 115 in the 1/4 mile and the fastest was the type r with full interior that ran a 132 with no nos. The vr6 jetta ran a 11.6 @ 128.

11.6 @ 128 does not make sense...thats like low 10 sec trap speeds...

but if the big turbo only gives max boost way up high, then shouldnt the MPH seem very high.........some show on speed channel ran a mopar in the 11's and he barely broke 100mph

thats probably because he had drag radials and he dead hooked..<<<<."mopar"..high mph is achievable especially if you blow the hell out of your tires coming off the line....128 does seem a little high though.....about that mopar again, are u sure ..my buddy went 13.1 @ 103 in a bone stock ls1..

I hate to say it, but it sounds possible. The front-drive cars suck off the line but they can really accelerate once they have traction.
In my case I ran 14.3 @ 102.5MPH while there was a guy who was running low 13's at about 99 MPH trap speed. I was taking off reasonably easy to baby my transmission, but then nailing it in 2,3 and 4th gears.

warmonger

Thats exactly the problem traction!! Thats why alot of those guys run bigger turbos and slicks and they are still having traction problems. Imagine a turbo that spools really quick, even less traction especially on a front wheel drive car.
