I would assume (perhaps incorrectly? ) that the a/c compressor on the 'tour has a clutch. Since it goes away when you turn on the a/c (i.e. engages the clutch) - I would think that would be a place to look. Just me and my perhaps incorrect assumptions. Good luck!

Thats funny you should say clutch because i used to have a go-cart and the clutch on it sounds just like what the noise sounds like on my car.....strange... can anyone verify there being a clutch on my car?
