Have been considering purchasing the MSDS headers for some time. I searched and found that the headers will connect to the Sho Shop Y pipe. I also know that the headers come with their own Y pipe. If I use the y-pipe from MSDS, would I need a straight pipe to get to the rest of the exhaust? Should I use the sho shop y that I already have installed? What are your thoughts?

Use the MSDS y-pipe. IIRC, it provides more power than MSDS headers in conjunction with SHO y-pipe.

I had MSDS headers with SHO y-pipe and it was RASPY.
Went to the MSDS y-pipe - rasp was almost gone and felt more powerful.

I can't remembe exactly, but I think you need the stock cat with the appropriate number of bolts (2-bolt IIRC) to bolt up to the MSDS y-pipe.
