ive been dealing with this little piss ass problem for like 2 weeks now, i got a cel and ran the obd2 test to find i needed a O2 upstream sensor in bank 1(back of he engine). now i looked at all the 4 O2 sensors and they all look the same harness wise. now the back one on the engine looks like a extreme ***** to get to. i bought the motorcarft replacement online for 75 bucks(as oppsed to 130 at the dealership) and the harness looks different from the stock. has anyone replaced this sensor, and when you did, did the replacment harness body look any differnt than from the stock one? i went to three diffrent places, all with the same part, so its got to be the right part, but the housing looks different, before i try getting to it, anyone know what im talking about???

Dont know nuttin bout no SVT. But I can tell you that replacing the right O2 sensor on my 95 LX was a Major League Pain in the Butt. If you do a search for O2 sensor you should find multiple postings about this. I purchased my Motorcraft O2 sensor online also for $53 each. The connectors matched up perfectly. Note that the 95 D-tec uses the DY-828 F5RZ-9F472-AA sensor. Good Luck Jab
Learning about cars from my Contour 95 LX - PLEASE do NOT BREATHE on my wiring harness! I can't afford a new one!

The Contour does not use the same O2 sensor connector as other Ford cars (at least for the upstream sensors). The one on the Contour is a square/rectangular 4-pin connector. The one on other Ford cars (and maybe the Contour's downstream sensors, can't remember for sure) is a round 4-pin connector.
All else fails you can always cut the plug off your old O2 sensor and splice it to the wires from the new sensor (I'd only do this if returning the new sensor is a pain).

before you replace any, do this. i had a cel a few months back. dealer told me code was po171. o2 sensor. so i disconnected the front o2 sensor, cleaned the connections and blew them out. reset the computer and the cel hasn't come on since. alot cheaper to do this than replace something that may not need replaced. maybe you have a dirty connection or something. just fyi.
i will always have a comeback! :o)
