I did a search, and does anybody have some numbers of before and after headers install? Before I drop 600+ dollars for them I'd like to know the marginal gain. SHOSHOP says they have seen up to 25hp, but I highly doubt it. I'm really interested in the torque gain. I know the SHM long tubes will gain you more tq due to the equal length long tubes, but i don't think they are offered anymore. Any help would be great. Thanks

I take it you are putting them on a 2.5L and not a 3.0L correct? I'd be willing to bet that they are pretty close to 25HP. And the TQ gains will be pretty nice also. I wish I would have dyno'd everything seperate, but I had everything done at once

Yes, they are for the 2.5L. I wish I had the money for the 3.0L hybred

No way will you get 25hp at the wheels. 8-10 (maybe 12 with some other mods) peak, but it would be nice to see the overall graph to see how the low end is effected. I have MSDS on my SVT, best mod I have done, make the exhaust note sound sooo good.

I know that 25 hp seems hard to believe but it is true. My Cougar was the car that MSDS used for the dyno runs. We made those runs at the SHO-Shop and R&D dyno. With the MSDS Headers,Intake and Bassani cat back my car dyno's at 178.

It's been a long time and I can post those plots if you would like to see them. Vadim could not believe it either the look on his face was priceless! I now have MSDS headers on my Escape and we made some pulls at R&D as well.

Stock Escape was 145 hp with MSDS headers, intake and cat back we pulled 185. I can post these plots for you as well if you would like. I can't remember the torque numbers as I don't have the plots right in front of me but once I get back home I can get those to you.

Maybe the non-svt engines are more choked up, perhaps that's what accounts for these gains? No SVT's that have posted have reported gains like that.

I will be dynoing soon enough with my MSDS addition.

I can see 25 hp with intake headers and full exhaust. Your post was a little misleading. Headers ALONE will not give you 25 hp. intake headers and full exhaust might tho.

I have a complete intake, bassani, Y-pipe and high flow cat. I just dont think I'd be able to pull and additional +25 hp. Thats why i was wondering if anybody has some numbers, or what they feel they added, but numbers dont lie so thats why im unsure of how much they add

Bro...PM warmonger, he has some dyno #s. If you just look at the stock manifolds..then at the headers...you'll see just how restrictive they are. Plus...headers will allow all future mods to reall become effective, and when you finally do have the $$$ for a 3L...you'll be hooked up!

Here's what I would do. Everyone you see running the Turbo kit? Contact them, cause the kit comes with its own headers, and if they had MSDS headers previously, they'll want to sell!!

Just FYI...I got mine for $300!!! Oh...and that's with an optimized stock Y Thanks Tom!!!

You may get those 25hp because your dropping the 2 cats that are hanging on the exhaust manifolds.

That being said... we'd need to see a dyno where someone with just the headers was putting down somewhere in the 185 range.
