I hope someone can help me, Yesterday for no apparent reason my car had a terrible whistling/gasping noise when i revved the engine. The culprit was two rubber hoses which connect to the EGPD Valve on the passenger side bulk head to two steel pipes which come off the exhaust manifold. I have since reconnected the pipes and they have just blown off again (even from the other end), Does anyone know what causes this and if so can i just get some clips to hold them on or will that cause more damage. HELP ME PLEASE!!

Welcome onboard.
You don't say but sounds like you have a '95 model with a plugged catalytic converter. Presumably the 80k warranty has expired as well as the original catalytic recall but you could always check your VIN at a dealer.

I havn't got many responses, so heres some more info. the car has 120,000 miles with FSH every 10,000 miles and I have a print out of all the parts purchased in the last 5-6 years one of which was a new cat, I've got a feeling that something could be restricting the exhaust causing excess pressure in the two pipes, anyone have any ideas, is the cat in front of the flexi pipe with a sheild on it? If so then i belive that is what is rattling, Never had a car with a cat before!

If you have two O2 Sensors then you have a pre-cat between them which is part of exhaust manifold. The main EGR-to-manifold tube comes from rad side around to firewall side and EGR valve, small pipes with hoses then go to back pressure transducer (DPFE). Main cat is the one under the floor console and I suspect that's the one that was previuosly replaced. Is your CEL (Check Engine light) on and if so have you retrieved the code?
p.s. Good to list your location.

I'm in the U.K., No CEL at all just massive drop in power doesn't go over 3000 rpm when pipes come off, Do you think I could be right about something restricting the exhaust and if so do you think its the cat
cheers for your response and any more help would be grateful

If your engine layout matches N.A. version I described then you have plugged pre-cat, although I'm surprised there is no CEL.
