I know this topic has been talked about before... I just ordered a CTA intake for my 99se. I was interested in getting a chip because they are supposed to help w/ the low end. I would like to get a chip that is easy to install and requires little configuration. Any suggestions?

Superchip or Diablo are your only choices AFAIK. They are just about the same, just plug them in.

Wow, do they sell those things wholesale anywhere, or is $225-ish about the cheap as they get?

the better shifting is the best part of a chip, increased power is just an added bonus. it's not much more power, but it's there. it uses the powerband much more effectively as well, i.e. holds the gears longer.

Better shifting was the main difference, what else do you have done to your car? I have kkm and exhaust done also and shifting through those gears the car sounds mean Matt

Check out the D Davis/Street Flight chip. Its pricey but Darrel has done a great job tuning it. I'm scraping together the cash for one right now. Go right here. HTH, BP

Thanks ButtonPuncher. Props should go to Keyser, though. All I really did was yell at him everytime he removed the chip to make sure the key was out of the ignition (don't wanna kill my PCM). Gains are good. Even better after installing my cam gears. Plus, we have an inside track on Street Flight. That's the place building the Duratec turbos, was going to make the Zetec CAI and now is burning chips for us. We can always contact the head honcho (Keith) and Chris (Keyser) for questioning.

Sorry Chris and Keyser!!! I just wanted to get the word out on your sweet tuned Zetec chip.
BTW, could I put that chip on without the cam gears without it hurting things too much? I need to talk to Street Flight about getting that chip and see if they can customize it for my 3'' exhaust. That and a 180 degree thermostat.
Thanks,
BP
