I ordered a DMD and it is at the dealer, but he wants almost $300 to install. I wonder if anyone here knows a mechanic who can do this for less. $300 is a lot of coin for a DMD install.

Don't want to do it myself because I don't trust myself with the valvetrain involved. How easy is it to mess that up, I don't know, but the consequences are not nice to contemplate.

I have another mechanic over on Pac Hwy near where I live (Point Loma), but that shop is real strange about parts that don't come from their parts suppliers...

Plus, I'd like to find a mechanic who is knowlegeable about these cars.

$300 is a ripoff. I just walked into the local Ford dealership asked if they could install the DMD for me.. I said since you guys have the right tools it shouldnt take you more then an hour to install.. and I would of done it myself but dont have the right stuff. He said ok.. $90 (hourly rate) and we will put it on. Worked for me.. droped it off in the AM before work.. got it that evening after work.
