The wiper on my 98 only works on wiper low and high, the delay function and wash wipe does not work. Ford says I need a new switch. Has anyone replaced this part before? If so, any and all advise, including step by step, tools needed diagrams and degree of difficulty would be greatly appreciated. :help:

Welcome onboard.

Don't know how they determined switch, when I had a similar problem it was the relay as noted here:wiper relay

Why not try the substitution suggested and see if that works.

On my way back to PA from VA last week, the intermittent/washer wiper activation that worked just fine on the way down no longer worked on the way back up.

Checked the CEG archives and found discussions, diagnostics and an ingenious way to attempt a cheapo fix for exactly this problem ...

Just another reason why I got a CEG jones!

Thanks Horseydug...I swapped relays from the rear defrost and all wiper funtions work. Time to go visit the Ford dealer to see what they're going to charge for a new relay. Again, thanks much Horseydug
