Im having problems with my secondaries. When I rev the engine the IMRC cable tries to pull the spring linkage (i see the wire cable getting tighter) but it seems like it doesn't have enough power to open the secondaries (like if the spring is too tight or the motor in the IMRC isn't strong enough) This IMRC is like 3 1/2 mths old only. Any ideas?

P.S. The spring is kind of hard even by hand but I can't imagine it getting tighter in a few months. And the ports aren't gunked up so thats not it.

If you REV the engine quickly,
the IMRC should open the secondaries briefly.

When you're actually DRIVING the car,
the secondaries open around 3700 RPM,
and that's when you feel the second boost of power.

Thanks but the problem is that when I rev the engine quickly the butterflies dont open. The cable gets tight nut doesnt pull them open. And the IMRC is less than 4 months old.

The gears appear to be ok, and the motor winds the gears only enough to tighten the cable but not enough to open the secondaries. Any other ideas?

Disconnect the cable at the linkage end and connect a spring balance...measure the amount of 'pull' on the linkage before the motor stalls or slips....

Well when disconnected from the linkage it will pull completely, then when I reconnect it it wont pull.
