Basically you add 2 oz. of Ford's Friction Modifier to the tranny fluid for MTX's. I have an ATX, so I'm not experienced with this. If you want to know more, try searching in the Transmissions forum and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

You have several options, as outlined in recent threads in the Transmission forum. 1. ATF+3 fluid 2. Fords honey-colored synthetic 3. Cocktail -- Mobil 1 ATF + 2oz friction modifier 4. Redline MTL 5. Redline MT-90 See this thread: Redline MTL Impressions Hope that helps. -Lance

I did the Redline MTL fluid this past weekend.
Highly reccomend it.
No friction modifier neccessary.
Smooth and easy shifting now...so much that I am having to relearn my clutch-shift timing.
Just my $.02

I think you're the only other person other than myself on here to call a gearbox, a gearbox. Cool.

...but it's a transaxle... "Technically"
"Gearbox" is associated with RWD cars when the box houses just the "tranny" gears.

My Dad's Dad called it a "Gearbox" and he worked for "Star" motors in Wolverhampton in 1910, I wonder what Henry called it, Who Cares , well I suppose Demon does,
