Hey guys, I'm just looking for an approximate real cost of shipping wheels and tires halfway across the country. Not the price you're charged by a company, but what you'd pay to ship in the Classifieds from Texas to either Coast or something.

Even if you could tell me the rough weight of a 16" wheel and tire, that would be fine. I have no idea what it would weigh. If I knew the weight I could get the price from UPS.

Thanks for your help,

Depends what wheel you're looking at having shipped.

wheel weights

That's a site that I've been using lately for finding weights of various wheels. It may not have everything on it but it's the most complete listing I've seen so far.

I just rec'd mine via UPS on Thurs...2 packages (4-17" alloys + tires), combined weight of 87# that also included all lug nuts. I believe shipping costs were around $70 from CA to OH. This was from a distributor (they usually get charged less due to volume). Hope this helps. BTW I recently shipped a tire unpackaged w/ the shipping slip taped to the tire, they charged me a fee($8+$10 for shipping) for not being packaged even though it would still be shipped this way.

Thanks for all the replies.

I was kinda figuring roughly 40lbs per wheel/tire. And that seems to be the case from the weight tables you sent.

4 17" wheels and 4 tires only came to 87lbs?

Seems a bit low to me...

But still, 2 packages, 87lbs apiece, and shipping was only $70.

Not bad.

I'm looking at 16" E1s from Indiana to Texas, so probably about the same.

Tires...$245
Wheels...$424
Shipping...Priceless

I paid a total of $741...Okay, Okay shipping was $72, but like I said it was a distributor/wholesaler so they would probably get a better rate. I dunno
Thats mounted/balanced...blah, blah, blah. But actually all of the packages I was looking at were about $60-70

Had E1 wheels with KDW tires shipped from Florida to Michigan for around $70 through FedEx Ground.
