This little spider has been in my workshop for a few days. It aggressively catches the mosquitoes. I took a close up picture. It's a really small spider. What kind of spider is this? Is this spider safe?

it's a cellar spider, it's deadly poisonous, but it cannot harm humans because it's jaws are too small to ibite us. So do what you want with it.

That my friend is a Mycosa, related to a brown recluse. It is really deadly, but as Mrs. Furby said, they can't penetrate. The males take it really personally.

And upon hearing those words, the spider must die.

IIRC, the story of "daddy long legs" spiders being deadly is an urban legend. They do have venom, but no testing has ever verified how toxic their venom is.

Wait so it aggressively catches the mosquitoes, whats wrong with that. I'd rather have a spider that doesn't do anything to me and that kills other bugs that suck my blood. IMHO breed these suckers and sell it the state of MN where the state bird is the the Mosquitoe!

I have all types of spiders all over my garage, and in my yard. They help me out with the really bad bugs like mosquitos. If any of you are want to see something interesting go to google, and search for: spider bite deaths and then search for: mosquito disease deaths
