I've been having problems with my car horribly Hesitating below 3500 RPM's. After some research I decided to try removing the Fuel Pump and cleaning it.

I just got done doing this and it didn't seem to help. I did notice that the L-Shaped Sock was slightly clogged with stuff but not overly clogged. I cleaned it with Carb cleaner and reinstalled it. Took it for a test drive and it still was hesitating like before.

I am close to buying a new Fuel Pump because I have persued everything electronic it could be (Plugs, WIres..etc) I am going to buy a fuel filter and probably a Fuel Pressure Regulator and if that doesn't work then I will probably go with a new Pump.

Anyone have any other thoughts....From what I have seen the returnless fuel pumps are the ones everyone's been having problems with....Should I just go for the whole unit or should I try replacing just the Stock?

I saw just the L-SHaped Strainer Sock listed on Autozone's website....but from what I have read here no one has replaced just the sock. Or have you?

Any help would be great!

Not the sock, the screen under it.

Run with a fuel pressure guage to see if it's a fuel pressure problem.

The Screen Under it? Where is this located at? I think your referring to a Returnless Fuel System...the Return Fuel system has a big L-Shaped Screen/Sock on the bottom of the Pump...unless its inside the pump?

Can you pull Fuel Pressure from OBDII?

Thanks

I don't see any transducer feeding this info to PCM in wiring manual so the answer is no.

Thanks for the help! I hadn't read the second one and it was actually very helpful. I will take a look at the BAT catalog and possibly order from there.

I bought a Fuel Filter and I'm just going to change it just for sanity sake...I will look into a measuring the pressure somehow but I have 80k+ miles on the car so its probably due for a new fuel pump....and the Fuel Sender has been going bad for some time now...maybe a new unit will fix this?

Thanks

Yea, the sender is pretty much part of the pump.
